Use Cases

Location Planning

The Cadastre dataset supports a variety of location-planning activities:
- Land Use Planning: Analyse current parcel uses, combined with land-use zoning and ownership patterns to guide decisions on rezoning, subdivision and urban expansion.
- Property Development: Combine current parcel uses with land-use zoning to guide decisions about property developments.
- Infrastructure Development: Parcel boundaries can be referenced in land management planning and the design of roads, utility corridors and public facilities.
- Environmental Management: Overlay cadastre parcels with habitat, watershed or floodplain layers to assess potential impacts of development.
- Disaster Management: This data could be used to model evacuation routes, locate critical assets and estimate property-level risk exposure, as well as assist in the coordination of relief efforts at the property level.
- Resource Allocation: Reference parcel-level data to allocate public services and schedule maintenance.
